Most IT support fixes the symptom and leaves. I stay until I understand the system — because that’s the only way to build something that doesn’t fail at 11pm on a Friday.

Twenty years. One approach.

I’m Tucker. I’ve spent 20 years in IT infrastructure — from wiring home networks to supporting the systems behind rocket launches. I work by appointment, and I treat every engagement like the infrastructure that depends on it is real. Because it always is.

Before launching Tucker’s Help Desk, I spent 4.5 years at Firefly Aerospace as part of the founding infrastructure team. I was one of four original employees still standing when the company achieved orbital launch capability. During that time I provided remote support to engineers in the field — midnight calls, server restarts, troubleshooting systems during liquid oxygen engine tests. That’s what high-stakes infrastructure support actually looks like.

Why I work the way I do

My mind maps systems in full detail before I act. Every cable, device, connection, and signal path gets understood before anything gets changed. That takes longer. The results last longer too.

I don’t do patchwork. I don’t leave until it’s stable. And I don’t pretend a consumer-grade router is good enough for a cardiology practice that can’t afford to lose connectivity during patient care.

What I’ve built

Enterprise Ubiquiti UniFi networks for medical offices — including dual ISP failover so the practice stays online even when a provider goes down. Full network recovery for a restaurant after a switch fire, working directly with Toast POS support to restore every terminal. Remote infrastructure support for aerospace engineers. And patient, practical help for individuals who just need someone steady next to them when technology feels overwhelming.
